EN 131-1:2015
There are new requirements in EN 131-1:2015 when compared to EN 131-1:2007+A1.
New requirements for leaning ladders:
– for single ladders above 3000 mm
– for combined ladders if an individual part above 3000 mm can be taken apart
– for ladder with rope, longer than 3000 mm
a stabiliser must be used
EN 131-2:2010+A2:2017
The following are changed in EN 131-2:2010+A2:2017 when compared to EN 131-
2:2010+A1.
Some tests were changed and the tests of durability were added:
5.2 Strength test of a ladder
– a new method of testing
5.12.2 Added positioning of a ladder into user position
5.15 Torsion test for a standing ladder
– a new method of testing
5.17 Durability test for standing ladders
– a new test
A non-professional ladder has to bear a test of 10 000 cycles.
A professional ladder has to bear a test of 50 000 cycles.
5.18 Base slip test for leaning ladders
– a new test
5.19 Strength test for lateral type stabilizers on leaning ladders which are in the plane of
the ladder
– a new test
5.20 Strength test for pole type stabilizers on leaning ladders which are not in the plane of
the ladder
– a new test
5.21 Torsion test for leaning ladders
– a new method of testing
